Bataan March Challenge 2025

In April of 1942, after the Battle of Bataan in the Philippines, approximately 78,000 American & Filipino soldiers were forced to walk 65 miles to a prisoner of war camp, Camp O'Donnell. Estimates vary but are as high as 18,000 prisoners died along the 8 days of the forced march.

In remembrance of the WWII Bataan Death March and as a fundraiser for Honor Flight Pittsburgh, we challenge you to complete a 65 mile trek.  You may choose to walk/hike/bike/ride that is to be completed at your own pace.  While doing this challenge, reflect on the severe physical challenge that our surviving heroes completed in only 8 days.

We understand that 65 miles is a long distance, so do not be afraid to complete what you feel safe trying - 6.5 k, 6.5 miles, etc.  Our goal is to remember the hardship.
